Groomer refused to do full body despite previous experience with grooming (5mo pup), trimmed snout way too short. Looking to get into home grooming. Vent + Advice.

You're not wrong. I know I'm being disrespectful to groomers. I feel it's only fair given the level of disrespect I've gotten from every professional groomer I've chatted with, either online or in person, the second "poodle" is mentioned as one of his dominant breeds. I've seen how other people who bought actual designer Doodles get treated on here too. It's exhausting.

This is my first dog. I've had him for all of 3 months and I'm already this far along regarding how to care for, what groomers describe, as one of the hardest coats to maintain. I've also done grooms around his face/paws/sanitary area, bathed him a few times, desensitized him to touch and sounds related to grooms. I'm clearly able and willing to learn. You wouldn't shit on someone who started studying grooming professionally and is 3 months in with their knowledge base, because you understand they're learning, no? I would expect a situation like this to receive even more empathy, given it's NOT my career.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've downloaded a few books and I'll try to find the paid grooming subscription site you mentioned.
