A group of Japanese women have submitted a petition to the government to protest against what they say is a de facto requirement for female staff to wear high heels at work. Others also urged that dress codes such as the near-ubiquitous business suits for men be loosened in the Japanese workplace.

I’m pissed that my whole family gets travel banned for 10 yrs+ , jailed, highly likely tortured and raped, get their bank accounts frozen, stripped off passport and citizenship.... only for fucking sending a tweet criticizing my government inhuman practices... let alone protest. Then open reddit to find out what the rest of the world is doing with free speech. not protesting the wars , famine, human-right abuses of all types.... no no . our shoes , we’re protesting to wear different shoes.

I’m literally taking a chance typing such shit in reddit with all the cracking and censorship happening. I just become so happy when I see the world news fighting evil in this world, not ignoring us. It’s actually a straight up tactic used by many governments now: controlling twitter trends to distract everyone, and keep us silenced and forgotten
