The growing right wing Pagan Hard-Polytheist Fundamentalism and their attack on Wiccans and Soft polytheists.

The thread was closed because I got the responses I needed to be able to understand the situation and a couple small things broke out. This subreddit is typically good about not resorting to abusive or harsh language and I'd like to keep it that way. I thought the thread I started would go over well enough without causing drama and I made sure my responses were sincere and respectful. When mud started being flung I shut it down on my own, not as a moderator, because I could tell it was no longer going to be productive.

As a moderator here it's hard to know what to do when you admit to being purposefully abusive and asking for them to ban you in that subredit. Instead of using the report button for us to deal with this you decided to engage and react just as harshly in response. I've had to remove comments from you and the other party in the thread I had intended to die down. Your actions also appear abusive, accusatory and harmful which is a poor point to start out on any time you want to rally the troops against some enemy.

From the sidebar:
* No vitriolic and abusive language towards ANY religion

The premise of your post here is to label hard polytheists as harmful fundamentalists. As someone who is a moderator at /r/pagan and a moderator here who is a hard polytheist and also a Wiccan I have a hard time not reading your post here as being anything but vitriolic and, if you don't mind some personal views, a bit disheartening.

In the deleted thread from yesterday where you linked the same /r/pagan thread you said:

Look past my provocation and look at what they are saying.

Your first post in that thread was:

ADF is a good organisation for you then. https://www.adf.org/[1] However most of what Hard polys label 'soft polytheism' is in fact middle ground. Most soft polytheists I know still respect deities as individuals, study the lore and try to honour the Gods in their way.
Most Reconstructionists I know, have little friends, constantly storm off and leave groups etc... because to them no one is good enough for the gods.
It's the pagan fundies...

In the deleted thread yesterday the person you are talking about asked more specifically what your complaint was and asked how you expect people to reply any differently when you begin your point with provocation to which you replied:

This is a deleted thread. Clearly you are your fundie mates are brigading. Please fuck off. I don't have much time to waste on dickheads like you. Go burn some Silver RavenWolf books or something. Whatever you lot jack off to.

Which is about when you told him to fuck off and asked to be banned.

I'm not sure what to do about this here. I'm very inclined to remove your post for having violated the rules in this subreddit but I'm very aware that you may consider it another attack from a fundie hard polytheist who is out to get you despite having been someone who is actively working on improving the community. Instead of alerting the moderators, taking the higher ground, or trying to find more productive means to handle this situation it feels like you're drumming up an attack against a community that is working on trying to improve relationships between the different branches of Paganism.

I'm aware that there is a history between various groups in these subreddits and it's something I'd like to see all of us working on. It's not going to change overnight, there are going to be adjustment periods, and there may sometimes be steps backwards as we figure out what works and what doesn't work.

I'd like to ask as a favor that you reconsider the actions you'd like to take in this situation and decide if this really is the route you would like to go. We can't always control the things around us, but we can choose what role we play and how we play it.
