Growing up, all my friends had proper games consoles, I was only allowed these things

Grew up poor in 3rd world country, parents can't even afford to buy this.

This knock off Gameboy is actually considered a luxury games. Only rich kids own it.

No, not even these.
What we've got is some Chinese knock off.
If you think Chinese knock off were bad these days, think about how bad it was decades ago, lol.

Anyway, there is rental outside my school.
Not a place, just a guy renting these outside school among many other street vendor.

These were tied to a rope (so naughty kid can't steal it), and we can play for 10 minutes with equivalent of 1 cents or something.

I actually forgot how much the rent, but I remember I need to skip eating lunch to save money to play these games.

You think that was sad?
No, it's still a joy.
And it's not like I play these everyday.

The sad part is many kids on my generation can't even afford to rent it. Or even seen this device.
We're dirt poor country.

But I have beautiful memories grew up though. Playing on fields, catching cricket, going camping, watching stars, etc.
