This grown man's reaction to losing to children on Robot Wars is priceless

Wow. Okay... Backing away slowly from the nerd-rage here before your hard-on pokes me in the eye.

None of what you showed takes into account the fact that a human-- much taller, much more agile, and much faster to react than a remote-controlled "robot" can ever be-- is going to be able to avoid the thing's attacks and just kick it the hell over when it's resetting. That flipper took 30 second to get lined up just right and deploy the weapon against a COMPLETELY STATIONARY AND DEFENSELESS WASHING MACHINE. That's hardly efficient, and it all comes down to the remote control aspect, and the fact that these things are less than agile.

You said it yourself: "if it catches you" and frankly, I doubt it could under normal circumstances. You talk about the damage they can do, but you're completely ignoring the fact that they're clumsy as hell.

Maybe work boots aren't enough, but I still think a halfway healthy human would stop the "robot" before the thing could be maneuvered into position to be able to do any damage... And barring that, you could always just slap the ungainly remote controls out of the operator's hands and that would be the end of the "robot". No operator, no attack. Because, as was my original point, they're not robots. They're remote-controlled mini-vehicles with weapons mounted on them.

Ye gods, you people are weirdly fanatical about this hobby.
