Did Uber Eats for a bit. The app intentionally hides the delivery destination until after you pick up the food, and you can’t cancel after getting the food, since that’s essentially stealing somebody’s food. Got an order, picked it up, and the location was a Motel 6 is a skeezy area of town. I was naive just went with it. I’d been in bad areas before but never to a motel. Basically these motels are used by people to fuck prostitutes, do drugs, sell drugs, etc. Now there are a lot of people who are just staying at a motel there, cuz it’s really cheap, but it’s almost midnight and the parking lots are full of people. Walked past guys passed on the ground, people stumbling around incoherently. Couldn’t find this guy’s room, but I didn’t do too much looking around cuz I kinda just wanted to GTFO. Called him, asked him to come down and walk pretty far to me. Handed him his food and fucked off. Didn’t park at the motel, parked somewhere nearby and walked to it. Glad I did. Took a bit of a hiatus for awhile after that. My sister did deliveries too and I gave her a lecture cuz I didn’t want her walking into a motel like that.
