Someone in New Orleans gathered a group of artists and painted all the boxes over the last few years. My issue with it was they didn’t get the city’s permission or seek anyone’s input, they just took it upon themselves to decorate the whole city’s boxes in their own personal taste. I didn’t know someone could just designate themselves as the city’s decorator. Anyway now there is now a painted box at every traffic light. They eventually did get the city’s permission. I get a little aggravated by the more tacky designs. I never really noticed the grey boxes because they blended in and there is so much more to look at. Historic stuff. But now the painted boxes are kinda all you notice. I know I’m in the minority though because they are very popular.
