GTA V AI is fundamentally flawed. Here are a few explanations for NPC's crashing into you on purpose, unrealistic Police tactics & fake "Pit maneuvers", Fake top speed etc. (Most of this still applies to Next-gen, as well) [30 minute video, timestamp links in the comments]

3:32 <-- Explanation for NPC's crashing into you, during high-speed driving scenarios.

32:39 <-- Also, another explanation, later in the video, of why AI seem to "intentionally" swerve into your lane, to avoid you.

Long story, short, due to console limitations - back on last-gen, they switch the AI from smooth RAGE/Bullet enhanced movements, to a pre-scripted cookie-cutter turning animation code, that doesn't seem to fit all turning scenarios. This was never fixed or mitigated for next-gen, or PC.

With that being said, I still think the "generic scripted animation" (and AI spawning code) includes code that causes intentional crashes. There definitely seems to be a "T-Bone" script that likes to spawn AI around blind corners/intersections, matching your speed perfectly, in order to get you to T-Bone them. I've even witnessed them speed up/slow down a little, in order to ensure this. It will also spawn vehicles pulling out of driveways, directly in your path.

9:06 <-- Top speed issue.

I already know that this is a well-known issue, stemming from console limitations. I just don't know why it hasn't been improved in next-gen or PC? I also don't like the fact that Rockstar obviously lies to players about their top-speed both during vehicle purchase, and on social club stats.

17:56 <-- Flawed Police AI & natural spawning mechanics (The AI insta-despawn issue has been sorta fixed, but I still don't like the fact that they aren't a part of natural traffic.)

25:38 <-- Completely UNREALISTIC "P.I.T. maneuver" code that overrides controller input and forces you left or right. This also applies to any gunfight that involves a blown tire. 30:20 <-- Comparing GTA IV Police AI to V

Now I totally understand that GTA is parodying LAPD, and honestly, as an L.A. native, his GTA V police example was actually pretty accurate lol. I still wish that there was a balance where we could sometimes see them going after other AI in a semi-realistic way (like in the IV example), instead of it always, predictably, ending in a gun fight. Every. Single. Time.

One extra gripe, that isn't listed in this video, is the star system. What happened to getting "Busted" on one star? Why, in Online, do the police immediately shoot for petty offenses, like them hitting my car? If they were able to catch me, I would love to actually do a 1-2 minute stint, down at the local P.D. with the option for a friend to come down, and bust you out after killing all of the cops in the immediate area. Oops, but I guess that would lead to actual fun being had.

I also question the decision for the removal of the sixth star. I've heard people say, that the only reason police are so OP, in the first place, is to help curb against griefers. If that's the case, why do we have a, mostly dormant, Army base that does nothing? A sixth star that provokes an Army response would be absolutely perfect, for combating against jet/tank (etc.) griefing.

Anyways, what are your thoughts on this video?
