OK...I finally managed after a day of seeing my Rockstar Social Club loading screen crash did I finally fix what was causing it...here goes:

I'd already tried the windows account and disabling the graphics card to no avail. Yesterday I filed a support case with Rockstar but 24 hours later they've not touched it. SO I'm on my own.

I'm now thinking about asking for a refund as this is going nowhere. My last resort? Get under the hood and see whats really going on when the app launches.

So i download "ProcessMonitor" and fire it up...after switch only to Registry view I fire up the Desktop icon...it does what it does and crashes..normal day.

I then exit the app and pause the processMonitor traffic and start to trawl through it:

First a whole heap of reading and writing cryptography keys..no clues here...

Then it goes onto Network card keys...closer? Doesn't seem so...

Then things get interesting...it starts to read my graphics card stuff...My Nvida card pops up a lot...People have talked about disabling video cards so SC app can load properly...? Maybe I'm getting closer...

Then it reads something VERY telling. My D3D Gear installation pops up.. That's a Video capture software app. The GTALauncher.exe log soon after that.could it be??

So, I fire up the control panel to de install D3DGear...restart..good sign..

Then I fire up the launcher again? After a nervous wait....success! I am now presented with my Steam activation page on the Social club app..never seen that! I activate my key and get the the end and GTAV runs!!!

It seems the moral of this story is there is definately something fishy about the SC app and what it likes and doesn't like interfering with Graphcs card settings, even whole apps.

So as a suggestion..do you have any video capture software or anything else that interacts with your video card...try removing it..

Also, try using ProcessManager to track what the EXE is doing last in the registry before it crashes...may yield a clue like it did for me...Good hunting!
