I guess CB’s are everywhere even at the veterinarian.

I usually don't defend CBs but this is a difficult situation for most people. No one wants to see their pet suffer, but tons of people don't even have a savings account for when their own health goes south, how can they be expected to for their pet? Its frequently a very high bill with no insurance! I also feel that I don't usually get results (at least from my vet).

Two years ago I brought my cat to the vet because she had stopped eating and was vomiting blood. I'd been bringing my cat there for years and had paid the vet hundreds on two separate occasions for tests and diagnosis for my cat. At the time of this emergency, I was out of work and having a hard time financially. I told the vet this, and asked if they had any programs available for payment and she basically told me I needed to pony up $800 for all the tests my cat needed or she would die. Made it seem like if I couldn't pay then I was a bad pet owner who didn't love my baby. I asked her if we could do some of the tests first and some after if they didn't get results, I also asked if some were more important or likely to help that we could do first and she told me that she had no idea what to recommend as more important. Eventually I came up with the cash and she performed all the tests and told me that they were all inconclusive and there was nothing wrong with her.

I understand that vets need to make money and that they're highly educated professionals with a lot of years of schooling and expenses, but come on. stop shaming people who are in tight spots and who desperately want to help their pet and can't. It's sick and really takes advantage of people who are in a desperate situation.
