[Guide] An in depth guide to being a Sunsinger.

Angel of Light isn't just "situational" in PvP. It's downright clutch. In fact, it makes sunsinger versatile in a way that no other class can be.

Angel of Light is the most useful skill on the Sunsinger subclass. Let me explain, imagine halo reach's jetback if it had a hover option. That is Angel of Light.

Is that person rushing you with a shotgun? Don't just jump backwards, go ADS and enjoy having a perfect shot at their head while you're stuck in mid-air just out of range long enough to finish a kill.

Furthermore, Angel of Light adds to the agility stat, which is the most useful stat in crucible besides recovery. Also, due to how stats tend to be more useful in an exponential fashion, that extra +1 speed boost actually ends up making you feel 25% more agile, making hunters chaseable.

Finally, the ability to cross-map snipe, using any position in the air as a platform can be down-right game-winning. Few players will expect this if you do it from a point where snipers usually can't get a hit.

Also, Gift of the Sun is mathematically terrible. the second grenade takes twice as long to regen. In other words, GotS becomes more useless the more you're actually using your grenades. As you mentioned, Touch of the flame is pretty much useless.

I concur, as I find that you'll get the most kills in PvP with Scorch melee in radiance mode rather than with grenades. Especially with the Sunsinger's best PvP exotic, claws of ahamkara, which allow you to bank a second scorch melee for radiance.

Even in PvE, I've become so used to hovering over enemy's heads with Angel of Light, avoiding overpowered melees that it really adds another dimension of possibility to what you can do.

For instance, ever tried hovering over Valus Taurac with Universal remote? He'll quake and not damage you, allowing you to headshot, doing more damage than gjallarhorn.

And, the sniper platform applies to PvE as well, can't tell you the number of times I've downed sword-bearer in CE with mid-air jumps as he camps behind the rocks.
