Guidelines for Looking for More Friendly Player Interactions

Frankly, I understand this guide but I find it reinforces a stereotype about people who use TeamSpeak that kind of sucks.

My sound setup is currently two-external speakers, since I'm always in a TeamSpeak with my friends who never play DayZ sometimes people can hear the sound from my speakers bleed through my mic and into my DayZ game. In fact, a few weeks back there was a group of four people just outside of Elektro who cuffed me and wanted to use me as bait for other people. I obliged because I thought it sounded like a fun idea and I didn't want to miss an opportunity to do something interesting. Sure enough, I'd been waiting in cuffs on the road out of Elektro as bait for almost fifteen minutes when they agreed to let me go because oddly enough there was no foot traffic. Sadly, I obliged and they uncuffed me but when I said "Goodbye" they heard my friend through my mic in TeamSpeak.

The entire group went completely ape shit asking me if I was in TeamSpeak. I told them "Yes, I am. However they're not in the game with me." What my friends and I were doing were completely separate as they were playing CS:GO and I was playing DayZ. However, simply because they heard my friends talking a happy, rather interesting encounter turned south in an instant.

While I do completely understand that there is a risk that follows for dealing with TeamSpeak players who are in groups, I don't think it's fair to toss solo players into that same category. While it is still possible that they could be communicating their location to you, it shouldn't be a problem. So long as you are smart when you converse with someone your sure is in a TeamSpeak there probably won't be an immediate harm that comes to you because of it. Like the guide says, follow them for a little bit and make sure they're alone. However do understand that just because they are in a TeamSpeak they probably aren't going to be able to directly cause you any harm because of it. After all, they're alone.
