Guilty of Manslaughter, other one walks free. Is this really justice?

Indian lives don't matter in NZ. There are already too many Maori/Polynesians in NZ prisons and the Justice System will bend over backwards to avoid this trend - there policy is crystal clear.

What about the victim? Why not restorative justice that gives at least a speck of justice to the victim. Granted deterrence doesn't work but it's not as if anything will change. Yet another poor Indian NZ business owner killed and yet another poor Maori/PI murderer let off. The victim and there loved ones get no closure, only to be further victimized. This doesn't ** heal** society

This is like the 5th (from the top of my head), small business owning Indian-New Zealander, in the past10 years, killed in cold blooded murder. And it is not if any of them Indian victims were are wealthy themselves, in fact, their realities in terms of poverty in there home country is much, much more stark then the situation NZ ever can be imagined. The difference between absolute poverty of their past realities and the relative poverty of deprived regions in NZ (from where most of the murders were from).

They move to NZ with a desire to have a stable income and safety. Unfortunately too naive to understand the risk of owing such a business in Auckland, esp South Auckland, and in most instances their only option given affordability.

I seriously hope that NZ Indian business owning community start realizing by now that it's just not worth it to run shops in certain areas of NZ. There's a grave crisis concerning the criminal justice system and its relationship with Maori/PI -and the priority lies with improving this situation, above anything else, esp victimization of the not so outspoken community.
