Guinness PRO14 announce American team WILL join the competition

I embrace Celtic rugbys acknowledgement that drastic measures have to be taken to remain competitive with England and France, they're being proactive in chasing new markets, the inclusion of 2 SA sides would opportunistic and brilliant, we'v now entered that market and I wouldn't be surprised if it was possible to add an additional SA team or two, be it Super Rugby franchises or not, but if the competition thrives, there would likely be big interest from SA clubs to play in Europe instead of Super Rugby, ESPECIALLY if they're admitted to Champions Cup rugby.

Washington is an interesting choice for U.S. team, I would have thought Philladelphia, Chicago or New York would be front runners, but they should definitely include a team based in Toronto as well as a U.S. team. There is a rugby league team there that draws half decent crowds and it's a tiny competition compared to Pro14.

They also have a rugby marked pitch and nice sized stadium to play in, and it's in downtown Toronto, holds about 10,000.

I'd also be interested in 1 team from Romania and Georgia respectively. I don't know where this German idea comes from, not sure how much talent could be sourced regardless of the will or desire to get a team there.

Make additions of 2 x South African teams, plus one each from Canada, US, Georgia and Romania, that would give you 20 teams, you could have two divisions of 12 and 8 with space for 4 more teams to grow it out to two divisions of 12 teams, 12 being the ideal number of teams to schedule fixtures for in the rugby season.
