Gun Control

Are we talking about drunk driving or gun control now? Drunk driving, I don't see a need to change the laws, and frankly, drunk driving is a state law issue, not a federal law issue.

As far as gun control, I'm a gun rights supporter, but I'm still in favor of some kind of regulation, namely background checks. And background checks already exist. No person in the USA can legally purchase a firearm of any kind without having first passed a background check. This POS killer in Vegas, from everything discovered thus far, complied with all laws in obtaining his firearms. So to say that a new law or laws would have stopped this is just asinine.

The reality is that the endgame for gun control advocates is and always has been a total ban on having any firearm. Unfortunately for them, The SCOTUS has continually reaffirmed that gun ownership is an individual right. So the gun control lobby tries to implement their ban through arbitrary restrictions such as limiting magazine size or regulating appearance in an effort to dissuade those who would purchase firearms from doing so. These laws have no effect on gun crime statistics and never have.

Most gun control advocates also have a fundamental ignorance as to why the 2nd Amendment was written. Either way, unless the gun control lobby can pass an amendment repealing the 2nd Amendment, their battle will always be a losing one, and if they manage to get an amendment passed, which is highly unlikely, you can guarantee that our country will descend into a bloody civil war.
