Hayato Date (Naruto, Naruto Shippūden, Saiyuki) is directing the series at studio Pierrot. Chūji Mikasano (Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Ghoul √A, Tokyo Ghoul:re) is overseeing the series scripts. Yasuharu Takanashi (Fairy Tail, Naruto Shippūden, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) is composing the music.

Hoo boy. Studio Pierrot huh...

As a note I'd like to point out they did not animate the Saiyuki Blast Anime of 2017, but the anime in 2001 and 2003, the latter being criticized for stretching out the series into 50 episodes where 26 were filler... The ending is also considered horrendous.

I know a lot of people know them for their poor adaption of Tokyo Ghoul √A, but the small Saiyuki Fandom has been hurt by the studio before. Pierrot has a hard time letting a series go out gracefully.

Maybe they wont do the same with this anime. Maybe they've learned over the years. We'll see.
