Notice - nothing said about the kid, other than that 'it' exists. It doesn't even have a gender in this account and there's no concern about the impact on the kid of the mother's potentially fatal illness, the transition, and the divorce.
Breast cancer tends to be more aggressive and deadly in women under 40, but there's no indication of what the ex-wife's prognosis is, or what impact that's having on her - as opposed to his 'natural tiddays'.
She's probably more worried the cancer recurring and her dying and leaving her kid without a mother or even a stable, empathetic, non-narcissistic father than anything else. Can you imagine this guy being able to be psychologically supportive of the kid if she died? I can't. I'll bet that her biggest concern at this point is not her looks, but simply staying alive until the kid makes it to adulthood.
