Guy disappears on his way to his daughter's birth - family finds his decapitated dead body in their barn 6 months later

I believe an itinerant sort of person, the 'less dead' type of member of society was killed in the barn, not a corpse stashed there. There are so many elements to this case and so little scientifically proven evidence that the jury's still out for me. If D.N.A testing was actually performed or not, only the cops and the testing facility truly know that. Just given the events upcoming in his life, it would've been a great spur for him to disappear and fake his death OR for him to kill himself. I mean, whenever something like this happens, you have to ask yourself, 'they've had X amount of years in which to disappear/kill themselves/get murdered/die under suspicious circumstances etc, so why NOW? What's changed that set off this sequence of events? Either he was so unhappy about the upcoming baby and all that entailed and decided to top himself, OR he was so unhappy about the upcoming baby and all that entailed and decided to fake his own death and start over somewhere else. I guess I'm still not convinced beyond reasonable doubt that D.N.A testing was actually done and not just reported as having been done, because that's a big difference. Still room for doubt I think but maybe I just like the mysterious elements of him still being out there somewhere and leaving all of us to scratch our heads lol. : )
