Guy discovers new fuel source

Sorry if my comment had a bit of a mean tone. You are correct and this is actually happening, because subsidies make it profitable for some farmers to grow corn for ethanol instead of food. But it being cheaper still wouldn’t solve the issue of it not being carbon neutral and wasting agricultural land. 3rd and 4th gen biofuels are quiet promising though as they use genetically modified algae or plants to produce biodiesel more efficiently with less land and energy use. The technology just needs some time. Traditional biofuels from corn, soy or rape seed are barely better than just good old fossil fuels while also competing with food production.
