This is the shit I’m talking about, people here are seriously arguing that poor people are in the position they’re in because they suck at managing money. It’s kind of hard to manage your money at all when you’re living paycheck to paycheck with no immediate better options. It’s already hard enough before shit like this happens, and anybody can tell you that everybody runs into unexpected expenses no matter how wealthy they are. The major difference between the rich and the poor is a simple one:

Somebody rich faces an unexpected expense, they can pay it off and still eat. It might be a major inconvenience but they’ll bounce back.

In unexpected expense for a poor person has dire consequences and can ruin their entire life for weeks or months or even years.
