Recycling is a lie that industry used to pass the blame down to consumers, so they could use cheap disposable materials to package shitty products we won't use for very long.

There was a time when you'd use longevity as a selling point to consumers.

Mercedes used to make a car where the chassis would last 500k miles, and the motor would last 300k. My dad's friend would replace the motor and drive it until it wasn't worth fixing. Mercedes came to the same conclusion, so they reduced the longevity of the frame to match the motor, saving some money in the process.
