Not wanting to sound rude or anything, but how do people generally end up living with someone who might make you call cops when things get out of hand, especially when woman is the culprit? I mean, even if things go eventually so bad that the woman become's hostile enough to hit you, what's preventing the man to just hold her down until she calms? Its not like she could easily break out as men have the physical strength advantage and if she was really hitting you for real, simply holding her can be counted as self defense.

I admit that I had few bad fights with my ex when she'd get out of control and tried to hit me, but it was never anything I could't handle. When things went bad I just had to hold her down a bit until she calmed down enough to realize her actions. I had never ever even considered calling cops because of it.
