My ex once threw a steaming cup of hot coffee at me but luckily she couldn’t throw too well and it mostly went all over the wall behind me. Then she had the nerve to joke about it with mutual friends and be like “that’s just how you have to deal with guys” and they would laugh and condone her behaviour while berating me for not painting over the coffee stain on the wall.

Fuck those “friends”.

She would yank on the steering wheel of my car and pull the handbrake. She smashed countless things of mine, hit me, pulled my hair, and did everything she could to get between me and any non mutual friends I had.

Every time I tried to break up with her, she would take a razor and begin cutting herself and then show up at my place with self harm marks on her arms and legs. She once turned up while I was on a date with another girl and sat in the hallway outside cursing and abusing me and then sobbing as loudly as she possibly could to attract attention. She got attention and I was labeled a “cheater” though I had broken up with her a couple of weeks before and changed my phone number.

The only way I could get away from her was to literally move countries and then dump her over a video call. Apparently, I’m now the “abuser” and she’s a “survivor”, though most of her closest friends know she’s a psycho and have told me that they’re glad I got away from her.
