This is my experience. Growing up in St. Louis in the 1970s, I'd hear once per month a black man resisting arrest and getting killed. I always wondered why they'd do that and thought they deserved it because a person trying to kill a cop is obviously a bad person. That and my family had at least 5 cop families as friends and they were pretty good and honest people.

Then I saw a video from an iPhone. Some of those family friend stories didn't make sense. then I saw another video and I knew they were lying - our now former friends weren't involved in killing a black man but their other stories now were no longer credible. And then I kept seeing videos.

Apple changed my politics from an R to a D when it changed my world view by putting a camera in a phone.
