The Guy Who Ruined Dogecoin | Motherboard... Even though it's So Not Ruined...

Here's how I know that Dogecoin wasn't ruined and that article writer, Kaleigh Rogers, is absolutely wrong about this article. I've just checked back from /r/Bitcoin talking about this article, and most of them have been nothing but supportive of Dogecoin. That's a far cry from 6-10 months ago, when most of /r/Bitcoin called Dogecoin a scam and the shibes as idiots. So Dogecoin isn't ruined in the outsider's perception realm.

Astute Bitcoiners know that Dogecoin is just an introductory cryptocurrency that has the capability to deal in microtransactions better than Bitcoin can (8 decimal places is too limiting for Bitcoin). So Dogecoin does have the capability to chart out its own territory, while still retaining many technological features that Bitcoin possesses due to copying Bitcoin's blockchain. Dogecoin doesn't have to worry about hashrate anymore thanks to it's AuxPoW with Litecoin. So we know Dogecoin isn't ruined in the technological realm.

So what could possibly ruin Dogecoin? Was it the decreasing of enthusiasm due to Ryan Kennedy's sycophantic actions towards this community? Is that it? Can one man really ruin an entire community's love towards Dogecoin? Are we really going to give Ryan this stature? Really?

See this is what is so short sighted about Kaleigh Roger's article. The writer is assuming that one scammer can take down the entire community by preying on their trust. Yet, Roger doesn't understand that the Bitcoin community went through the same thing back during 2010-2011. Once Bitcoiners realize Bitcoin is a viable currency, scammers popped up and preyed on Bitcoiner's then-innocent trust. It was the start of news reports pointing out how Bitcoin is a scam. Heck, if Roger was able to contact Ryan, Roger would find out that Ryan was one of the earlier Bitcoin scammers around.

Yet, has Bitcoin died? No. Bitcoin grew. The Bitcoin community became more skeptical of scammers. More Bitcoin entrepeneurs popped up. Bitcoin has never been more stronger than ever. So what's to say this can't happen with Dogecoin? We've just passed the first year mark. We've still got many more years to go. Dogecoin's inflation rate is less than Bitcoin's inflation rate for the next few years. And Dogecoin's inflation rate is deflationary (or as Jackson Palmer called it "Dogeflationary"). Dogecoin will continue to thrive and be successful as long as people are using Dogecoins. And the only reason they'll continue to use Dogecoins is because Dogecoin is fun to use. So let's figure out a way to get more software developers and business owners to use Dogecoins. That's how Dogecoin will continue to be successful.

So, even though it is a good written article, Roger's main point is wrong. Dogecoin isn't ruined by one guy. The Doge howls forward.
