Yeah, bullied through much of elementary and middle school. For being chubby, being shy, being quiet.

The irony of it all is that the tables turned in high school, but I think it may have hurt me more than it did anyone else. It's a long story as to how I began getting tangled up with a gang that dealt study drugs, weed and shrooms (if we had them) but long story short people began to think I was some sort of gangster. Even teachers began asking me what was wrong and why I was getting mixed up with those guys. The truth was that I knew very little/almost nothing about their dealing. But it was also the truth that those guys people call hoodlums and thugs treated me better than many of the virtue signallers claiming they care about me. So throughout high school they appreciated how I never ever talked badly about them. I defended them from anyone including my own parents, teachers, other students, the school cop on campus, and the school security guys. Unfortunately this meant that people thought of me as dangerous and it destroyed much of my social capital as it went from "well at least he's quiet and nice" to "oh my god, he even hangs out with those guys".
