Do you guys (PC players) also play the ptde version because of the original lightning that kinda got butchered in the remaster

Heck yeah. While I played a ton of the remaster when it was new (over a hundred hours according to Steam), I can't see myself revisiting it. It's baffling that so many people genuinely believe it barely looks different. The difference isn't even subtle; anybody who played the original should notice how awful the new lighting system as soon as the game begins.

In the opening asylum cutscene, the dim lighting of the cell was meant to hide your character's face before a close-up shot where they move their face up to a small ray of light. Even with the brightness correctly calibrated, the remaster ruins this reveal with it's "Realistic Lighting and Shading FX" by making the protagonist's lifeless face immediately apparent.

Unfortunately, it's not just the lighting that's worse. Somehow, most of the new assets of this 2018 remaster look worse than the original 2011 assets. The Knight and Elite Knight armor sets not only look like they're made of plastic, they lack the scratches and wear, giving them a cleaner but far less detailed appearance. The slow, ethereal flame of the bonfire has been changed into a generic fire to match the bonfires in the sequels, yet the game still uses the old loading screen bonfire gif for some reason. A background was added around the entrance to the Bed of Chaos, but at the cost of downgrading the striking lava of Lost Izalith to lasagna.bmp.

With all that said, at least the art direction is mostly intact despite the vastly inferior presentation, unlike a certain other "enhanced" version of a classic FromSoftware RPG.
