This thread has gotten me thinking about someone I was "dating" before the pandemic. She was like 12 years younger than me, and she told me on our first date that she wasn't looking for anything exclusive or serious, which I was fine with. Despite that, we hung out 3-4 nights a week for like 10 months, going out for dinner and drinks a couple times a week, we took weekend trips together, and when we stayed home I'd buy booze and weed.

She never ever asked me for money or gifts, but in that entire time she never ONCE volunteered to pay. Not even pretending to go for a wallet. Hell I don't know if she had a wallet. One time when a waitress left our check on the table I didn't reach for it to see what would happen. After several minutes when she didn't so much as glance at it, I grabbed it.

Now looking back in this context I just asked myself, "Was I a sugar daddy???"
