H.R. 861: To terminate the Environmental Protection Agency: Rep. Gaetz, Matt (R)

I feel like everyone forgets that we are still a species like any other that needs a earth

Well, just look around you. We live a society that worships the concept of private property as more precious than life itself, and the process of accumulation and competition. A society that thinks institutions and abstractions like money, governments and businesses can control and define what's real and what's not. A society whose fundamental values are as detached from the real Natural world as possible.

These are the values at the core of our civilization. We think we own the world and get to say what exists and what doesn't in it. Things that are not aligned with our interests deserve to not exist. Everything is there for us to take it in our name and own.

We believe calling a land "mine" means you can do whatever you want with it. We believe a person who's name is on a piece of paper somewhere has total control over a large section of nature and wildlife, and can destroy it all if they want to. We believe Nature gives a damn about our borders and fences.

We are completely lost in our own anthropocentric ideology. What you're seeing now is just the inevitable and predictable end result of it, once we had nowhere else to spread, no other land to plunder, nothing else to consume.

But everybody LOVES IT just like that, and are ready to defend it to the death. And Nature will say to us: death it is.
