You Had Us At “African Game of Thrones“, Then You Started Talking About Magical Appendices!

There you go just assuming the worst of everything I say.

To start with, mythology is immemorial, so how is any general non-European continent behind Europe in such literature?

That's a good question. One thing is population. During the sort of beginning of coherent medieval-european myth in the 1000s Europe had about 56.4 million inhabitance, many of them in close nations and cultures. By the 1500s, essentially the end of classical mythology in Europe, the population had risen to about 90.7. Whereas in Africa, 1,346 AD, the height of the population in africa that we know about, about 4 million in Egypt and another 5 in the rest of North Africa. We don't really know anything about the tribes south of the equator in those times, but rest assured that very little mythologically had come out of those areas in respect to the myths of western europe.

In asia, I don't really know. I know Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism were the dominant philosophies of the Far East during the Middle Ages, and they were ahead of the west in a lot ways as well. I can't really come up with any explanation for why I think of Europe as more mythologically prominent than Asia during this time; although, I can say that from what I've read of the aforementioned philosophies, is not comparable to Western theology and philosophy, in my opinion.

For that matter, how is it possible for one pool of mythology to be "behind" another pool of mythology?

Well, it's completely subjective, that is something few of you seem to grasp about what I'm saying, any times that I have stated my thoughts objectively is a mistake on my part. The Legends I've read from Asia and Africa aren't nearly as compelling to me.

As for judging you, well, I've been reading what you've written--that's what I have to go on.

I will have to point to what I said earlier in the conversation "Between judging mythologies that you have only read a few books on, and judging someone you've never met, it seems pretty obvious which is more ignorant."
