Had an interview with a pyramid scheme recruiter, details in comments. Wondering what to do about it.

A beloved friend hooked me up with an interview with someone, recently. I love and trust the guy, but as soon as he told me he couldn't tell me what I'd be doing, the Amway alarms went off. I stuck with it and had an hour and a half talk with him and the recruiter. Actually a nice guy, but it's part of the process, the lure. He gave me a copy of The Go-Giver for me to read, saying they want to make sure I'm committed to the program. Extremely manipulative, smoothe-talking, but the book is probably decent. I asked what the program is even called and he declined to answer, citing security and a semilong story detailing that an info leak from this program lead to the birth of Amazon Smile. There were other hilarious flags, but it's all less important, right now.

I'm told to go to police or the FBI over this. He gave me his number, even. What are my options, now?

More importantly, to me, is how do I return this book to my friend and keep the friendship after telling him I know what it all is and spilling the beans? I do value the guy, he's a legit awesome guy, been my friend for many years.
