Had a bad experience at my last job, now it feels almost impossible to apply for a new one

So sorry for the late reply! That's great to hear that more positions will be open later in the year! Come to think of it, last time I got hired it was August. That makes sense. I do have a question though. The location I applied to has signs saying they're hiring, and I sent in two applications. Maybe that was a bit much. I sent in one on Christmas, and then after not hearing anything, I put in another one around January 7th just in case they hadn't received it. I figured I'd definitely be hired since I worked at McD's for a year and a half. I also called the lady in charge of hiring and politely let her know that I had applied. She said something a out how she was actually going to look at applications that day, and I'd hear back in a few days. I never was contacted. Is it safe to assume they won't hire me? Was I too pushy?
