Had to take a break from a game I like because of a creepy guy

Girl, you need a man advice here. I'm here to explain what it is. It's probably a hook situation not a creep situation.

The way you described the situation sounds normal. You met someone online, you play together and suddenly he developed feelings. I'm not saying it's normal to have feelings over someone online but it is because you let us know and personally think he is really cool, he doesn't abuse or smacktalk you and he let you know he had feelings respectfully. It's whatever. You didn't mention the rejection here but if you haven't already, let him know it's never gonna happen. We, men, will always think we have a chance till we hear the two letter word "No". Maybe we're gullible like that but it is what it is.

Now what is a "hook"? The situation you're in is a typical hook situation and it happens to us too by other guys. Some of us are real loners. We don't get any attention or care from anyone so they stick to someone like glue. Happens in women too but it's way more unlikely for a woman that she doesn't get any love or attention (not saying it don't happen tho). I've had guy friends do the EXACT thing you are talking about. We play a game and suddenly I wake up everyday to batch of messages. No matter how many times I try to ignore or make it sound like I don't care. They wanna watch the movies I wanna watch and play the games I play and invite them to any cool servers I'm in. I also had a friend who did that to another friend. I don't think it's harmful unless it crosses a line.

Summary: I'm just trying to say it's not a male attack or male creep situation unless there is more to the story then I'm sorry, I didn't know. It's just a hook. Some of us men attach to people way too easily because we're trying to find a way to socialise. Multiplayer video games are the easiest form of socialization. Just playing a video game and having fun with people. If he bothers you or crosses the line, block him. Don't feel like you need to please people all the time. Just wanted to clarify. Stay safe.
