Had to deal with a passenger at the Airport who complained that the terminal "was far too hot". She then got on a plane to Turkey.

Firstly this isn't a British problem in the slightest, just something you see as strange - a cold person going to a hot climate not wanting to be hot.

But secondly, and what honestly I find a bit silly is the fact that there isn't anything wrong with what they said (apart from maybe the fact she said it out loud, very un-british, a tut would have sufficed :D!)

Just because you live in turkey/dubai, doesn't mean you don't have all your rooms/buildings air conditioned to 18-24 degrees to suit your perfect temperature.

We're just really unprepared for the weather in the UK as it happens so infrequently, that the concept of Air Conditioning never really comes up.

It's like criticising people for complaining about the snow stopping traffic in winter and then flying to canada. While sure, Canada has more snow (in most places, I'm sure) than the UK, they are certainly a lot more prepared for it, and wouldn't close all roads/schools/shops, fail to grit key roads, close all airports and bring the country to a standstill like we do when it happens.

Likewise, in countries in the middle-east, they can go in temperatures of 40+ by having rooms with air-conditioning, and ice-vests/water bottles/air-conditioned cars etc.
