I was in a continuous wave pool once and I started to get tired. I swam towards the ladder to get out, but every time I got close another wave would come and push my 6 feet away from it. This happened about 10 times before I started to panic. There was a lifeguard standing right there, but the pool was packed and he seemed to be looking at everyone except me. I was staring right at him when I went under, and he saw me in the nick of time, reached under the water and pulled me out. He just put me on the ground and went right back to watching the pool. Dude just saved my life like it was all in a days work, no fanfare, no nothing. Thank you lifeguards of the world.
