I'm not saying this is new. I'm saying this is something that needs to change. Profit motive needs to be eliminated from journalism because journalism is the 4th estate, a vital function of democracy. It serves a purpose to the public, it's not mean to be a money maker, because trying to make it profitable means compromising the journalism to not upset advertisers or private owners or corporate owners or whomever is expecting to make that money at the end of the day.

Other industries, sure, do what you want, but less-biased journalism is necessary for democracy to work because an uninformed voter body cannot make good decisions when the facts and narratives they are being presented are misleading to serve private interests.
