Hair Transplant

Definitely keep using it, it's so hard to get hair back once it's gone and you'll more desperate than 30 seconds twice a day to get it. So keep what you have.

Also, Propecia or generic Proscar (5mg vs Propecia at 1mg, so much cheaper and you only take half a pill every other day)

As for follicular hair transplant, been there and done that. Don't regret it, and I plan to go back once or twice more to fill in any additional thinning. Fortunately I caught it someone early so I don't have it too bad but definitely don't think I'd look good with a shaved head. Get ready to spend some money though, I went to a well respected doc that's done some celebrities and had an average price (msg me if you want more info on him) but know that it's like $4/ hair follicle for the first 1200 and then $3/follicle after that. Depending on your hair loss, if it's noticeably thinner than the rest of your head you're looking at needing potentially upwards of 3,000-5,000 for any real improvement. It's not worth skimping on if you're gonna do it at all. I ended up getting 1734 follicles transplanted, I only lost a single one post surgery (20+ isn't uncommon) and spent around $7,000 through a loan I took out. Still paying on that. I don't regret it, glad I bit the bullet and did it- self confidence went way when it started growing in (about 3 months later). Keep in mind the surgery is utterly miserable, mine took 3 nurses and the surgeon nearly 9 hours non-stop, and it can be rather painful. They give you some painkillers orally and through local anesthesia (talk about stinging) but you'll still feel the thousands of incisions they make in your scalp, and the drugs start wearing off after a few hours. It was nearly a year before I regained feeling in my scalp from the nerve damage.
