Yep, and the first stage was removing regulation on the news so people can be manipulated legally. (This part has it's roots with the Evangelical Churches.) The next stage was put in place after 9/11, mostly government surveillance and predictive analytics. (I'm a Data Scientist, so I know all about how it works.) And then there is Trump. The next time we may not be so lucky.

There are a lot of people who say they're going to move to Canada or whatever if such-en-such gets elected. This is not like this. My family, who my mother in law is a data scientist too (Which has its roots in gov analytics, so you get an idea.), and my SO both don't care who gets elected. They're making plans to move out of the country in 4 years, but I'm trying to get them to stay for 8, so.. yah.
