Half of Teachers Did Not Return to Chicago Public Schools as Ordered on Monday, District Says

Once there was an explosion outside of my house, so I told my 5-ish year old to go to his room and wait for me to come back before he came out. I went outside to check it out and something had hit the high voltage lines and now there was a grass fire that was starting to spread. So I tried to stomp it out but it was spreading too fast, so I called 911 and started filling buckets of water.

So I'm trying to talk to the 911 operator while simultaneously splashing water everywhere and stomping out the fire, and all of the sudden my kid is just standing next to me like 'daddy why is there a fire' and I was like GO TO YOUR ROOOOOOM! and then he just started crying like holy shit fuck me. I don't think I've ever yelled at him like that before or since so it freaked him out.

I can't even begin to imagine what that would be like with 29 other kids haha.

Also the fire department showed up and put it out in like two seconds lol.
