No, they're right. Before implementing medicare for all or another kind of universal health care scheme, we need to tell people to start taking care of their own health. Public and private health care costs would be dramatically lower if everyone had a healthy diet and was minimally physically active. This is the message we need to hear from our politicians from both sides of the aisle. Next time a reporter asks Bernie Sanders how he's going to pay for M4A, he should respond: "We're not going to be able to pay for M4A if people keep eating fast food 3 times a week, drinking 2L of soda a day, and spending hours on the couch rather than doing some exercise. Such a people does not deserve medicare for all. We will deserve universal health care when people start taking care of their health."
