This is why the People need to be properly armed. This can be seen clearly when the State holds this sort of power, and is murdering the People with it.

When they finally overthrow the hateful regime that is tormenting them, and all the Sheikhs and their thugs are dancing at the end of ropes, the good people of Iran could draw inspiration for their new government from the underlying philosophy of the United States, where power naturally rests with the People, and the People must always be well-armed to keep the State in check.

With the Iranian people all armed and trained, and the ranks of government purged of these evil men, this terrible tragedy would be very unlikely to be repeated.
