Actually Palpatine pulled Anakin to almost finishing his destiny. The Jedi were idiots about balance to the force though, Anakin did bring balance fulfilling his destiny. There were hundreds maybe thousands of Jedi and only a handful of sith. When anakin killed almost all the Jedi he brought true balance to the force. If there are thousands of Jedi the sith have to grow there numbers to match that or the Jedi have to decrease their numbers to match the sith if you understand what I’m saying. By the end of the trilogy it was all balanced except that there were 2 extra sith, Luke finished Anakin destiny by redeeming him and then Anakin killed palpatine finishing the balance and making the light and dark side equal. That is what his destiny was.
