Happy middle aged Canadian male; AMA!

It's not for everyone. I enjoy driving. Everyone starts out on the least desired shifts. Crazy split shifts in the beginning. But once you have a little seniority, you can pick and choose shifts, routes, days or nights, even switch depots. Some depots offer the four day work week too. Can bank our overtime and stat days to access extra time off. We have roughly 3400 conventional drivers and like 500 more mini bus drivers.

Personally I aim to work as many Sundays and holidays as possible for the extra pay... $85k a year, up to 11 paid weeks off each year, full benefits, nice retirement plan. Some drive for a few years, and then seek out supervisory positions.
