Hey all - I directed and co-wrote Hard Reset. If you are here, I'd first like to thank you for checking out this post. 2nd - I'd like to thank OATS Studios since they have wonderfully paved the way for Sci-Fi shorts on STEAM. Which I believe has led to us having a small amount of collateral success. Right now the film is trending on STEAM and is on sale for $1.33! so if you have a STEAM acct and want to check it out - please do! This project started out as my Master's Thesis at UT Austin, where I was getting my MFA in Film Production. We assembled a crew, built 6 sets on a soundstage at UT, created costumes, weapons and far out props. We cast locally and spent almost 11 days shooting this project. We initially shot in native stereoscopic 3D and are working on a way to make that version of the film available - most likely through VR headsets as no one has 3D TV's anymore. Post production was a lot longer, almost a year. About six months after I graduated and screened the project we were approached with other opportunities that allowed me to take the time over the following year to do a total overhaul on the VFX and the sound design/mixing. That version of the film screened around the country and at a few festivals where we picked up some awards. And now the project is available to view! It would not have been possible without the generous participation of our investors, UT RTF, UT3D, our families and friends.
