Harry looks at his childhood with rose colored glasses

If you asked me, it's probably a lose-lose situation for Harry either way:

Had Harry grown up spoiled or whatever else Snape thought of him, chances are that Snape would've hated him as per canon (or perhaps more). Then again, there's a good chance that Snape felt a spiteful bit of joy at having seen Harry's canon upbringing, which probably didn't generate any sympathy at all.

It could be due to Snape's hatred of James, or the fact that Snape, having grown up in shtty conditions in Cokesworth (a fictional town, btw), saw it as "Who gives a damn if you were abused, Potter?" Yeah, come to think of it, if Snape *were to have commented on Harry's upbringing, he almost certainly would have gone:

"So what? Did famous Harry Potter expect to grow up in a luxury hotel or something? Is fancy Privet Drive not good enough for our resident celebrity?" rather than the often-used "OMG, DUMBLES! HOW DARE YOU HURT LILY'S CHILD!" in fanon.

There was just no gathering sympathy, or even empathy, from Snape.
