[Harry Potter ] how many muggles did death eaters actually killed?

I would assume that he protects his minions the same way he taught Bellatrix and Snape some Dark Magic, and also I would assume that he could find a place on earth which no one would even have any hope to find or reach. I agree with you almost on anything, but don't forget that Harry found just the Ravenclaw's one by himself IIRC, the majority of the groundwork was laid out by Dumbledore. Harry also had the help of a spy who was not only one of Voldy's closest advisor, he was the second most talented wizard of his generation.

But yeah, a magic war is not something Voldemort would want. We don't even know what he really wants because, sorry for the Doylist answer, Voldemort is not a well written character. He hated muggles as a political tool to garner support and to renegade his past, but it's not like he had any policy or objective. The only thing we know is that he wanted to defeat death, and he wanted everyone to recognize his superiority and bow to him. He didn't take the Ministry when he had the chance, and he could easily have between book 6 and 7, he probably would have been like Kim in North Korea, a dictator no one dare to touch because it would be painful for everyone and let's close an eye on all the atrocities he is committing in Britain for quiet living.
