Harry Potter is OVERRATED

As someone who LOVES the PJO series, I got to admit, it doesn’t hold a candle to Harry Potter. It’s entertaining and a great read but it just doesn’t have the depth Harry Potter has. It’s one of those books you loved reading but forgot as soon as you were done. The world was not thaaat enticing or amazing. The plot was average. I’ve read the PJO series so many times and yet I honestly can’t remember any of the main plot.

The characters were pretty meh and unremarkable, likable yet unremarkable. Overall, it felt like most of the characters just weren’t fully fleshed out the way HP characters were. When a PJO series character died, I felt nothing. HP character deaths were a whole different story.

And finally, HP, as cliche as it is, had a very beautiful message interwoven throughout the series. PJO just doesn’t have that. I always saw PJO as a very lighthearted read. HP dealt with much more serious themes, presented in ways that children could comprehend easily. PJO is a great series and my middle school, Greek mythology obsessed self loved it. However it’s just not comparable with HP.
