Why is Harry randomly Indian in some fics?

I did not imply that. I just have the feeling that american problems are pushed onto the rest of the world even if their problems aren’t that huge in other parts of the world (racism is still a problem but there are other people it’s mostly directed to than in america.). And sorry but how is Chang a bad name? It’s just one of the regular Chinese last names. And another way of romanizing the name Zhang (like Zhang Zi Yi, the actress from the Geisha). How was she supposed to name her? Tina Presley? Wang Xin Yan? Chinese people seem to like alliterations, so I don’t even see the name Cho Chang not being some regular name. There is literally a chinese pianist called Ling Ling. I can’t blame her for chosing a for westerners easy to pronounce name for her characters. And the Shacklebolt thing. No idea if she really thought about shackled slaves when she named him. I just cannot believe it. Also on the other hand his first name is Kingsley which is a pretty royal sounding name. And he was a great and well thought out character. Sometimes I have a feeling that people tend to interpret more meaning into things than there is. JKR gave meaning to a great many things. Remus is basically called Wolf McMoon etc. But sometimes there just names because they sound good and fit the character. I mean. Just thing about Harry Potter. That is actually one of the most boring common sounding names there is.
