Harvard psychiatrist on bad teammates

Bingo. This dude is not nearly as insightful as he appears. He draws distinctions without a difference and then asks people to bracket one side to focus on the other when, in the final analysis, the two can’t be disarticulated.

Bad play by someone in your game doesn’t just go away because you “focus on the game.” You have to play around your teammates. Indeed, playing around good/bad players is a core part of the game.

The actual remedy to tilting is realizing that league games don’t matter. Once you figure that out then playing becomes a lot more fun. Muting your teammates becomes more thinkable. Playing the champs you like becomes easier to justify. But it’s hard to get to that point, especially when the game incentivizes you to think exactly the opposite.

But I guess we should all worship a dime store therapist :)
