Why hasn't the match making been fixed?

matchmaking hasn't been fixed because Blizzard... doesn't care. And we should be able to start admitting that.

Blizzard has sat on this issue for months, despite numerous threads/complaints... should have been a week 1 focus to maintain the increased playerbase, but all they've really done at this point is to release that matchmaking blog I think? Which I'm sure was their attempt to defend the current state anyways (which is why they are probably hesitant to release part 2 after the community pointed out all the flaws in it).

Somewhere in a corporate backroom a group of devs are patting themselves on the back gaslighting each other that their balance algorithm was actually a huge success and that players 'wouldn't be happy with anything anyways' and 'players don't actually know what they want', and the games are actually fair because the win/losses still pulls people towards 50% (despite how lopsided and unrewarding we as players know many matches have become). They'll take credit for the short term increases and then attribute the longer term falloff to other things because it could be a number of harder to track factors.

Plus if that one patent is to be believed they may even be intentionally sticking veterans with new players to incentivize cosmetic shop purchases (which... who knows... but I've got to really start to wonder at this point given the patterns in their content strategy and pricing which neglect any average budget and player experience). Look... all in all I still like playing, but I'm just not holding out hope we'll see anything proactive anymore is all.
